Water Quality

Improving the quality of Oregon streams, rivers and lakes is the overall goal of ACWA member agencies. This committee deals with the setting of water quality standards and strategies for watershed and resource management.  Next Agenda

Biosolids

Biosolids are a by-product of the wastewater treatment process. This committee is concerned with issues relating to their disposition and reuse.

Pretreatment

Industries are required to pre-treat their discharges before they are put into a municipal sewerage system. This committee deals with issues such as evolving federal categorical standards, setting local limits and pollution prevention.  Agenda

Legal

The Legal Committee considers state and federal court cases that could affect the way agencies carry out their responsibilies.

Education

This committee develops tools and techniques to further public understanding of wastewater and water quality issues.  Agenda

Legislative

Considers issues before the Oregon State Legislature and executive agencies which may affect the manner in which ACWA agencies carry out their missions.

Stormwater

Deals with issues regarding runoff of stormwater into streams, rivers and lakes. Stormwater Program Resources  Next Agenda

Finance

The Finance committee considers finance and accounting issues related to the ability of ACWA member agencies to fulfill their missions.
